In the broadest sense of the word, I’m a writer. Journalism and custom content/B2B for healthcare publishers, personal essays about things that happen to me and to people near me.
I write all the songs for my band Thee Shambels. Mostly they’re about heartbreak and longing and sometimes I’ll write one about being in love.
After 20 years as a professional photographer, I’m still shooting and I’m giving back a little bit by teaching photography at the New York Institute of Photography. I produce write, shoot and edit short films—little stories about people, places and things in New York City.
I’ve been a bartender, a barista, a stage manager and an usher in the theatre. I’ve put up drywall and sold air conditioners.. It’s a lot I know, sometimes I wake up and wonder who I am and what I’m supposed to be today. But that’s why they invented coffee.
